Spiritual Growth: Repeating Pilate's Mistake

One of the most fascinating moments in the Bible is when Pontius Pilate asked Jesus “What is Truth?”

John 18:38. Pilate was at least asking the right person. Unfortunately he was asking the wrong question. How do we know this? Because of John 14:6 where Jesus says… “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me."

Truth is not a thing, it is a person.

Truth is the Lord Jesus Christ. Pilate was right in front of him and did not recognize him. Many today are in many ways in the same situation. Now we have the historical record of over 2000 years. Now we have the testimony of millions of people from all over the globe. Hundreds of thousands of books have been written, audio messages recorded, videos and even major movies made about Jesus.

But still there are many who refuse to acknowledge him as the Truth.

If Pilate were here, knowing what he now knows he would tell them WAKE UP BECAUSE unless you acknowledge him as Truth you have NO OTHER way to approach God. Down through the centuries people have repeated Pilate’s mistake inspite of more and more evidence about Jesus. They have met the same fate as Pilate.

Don’t be one of them, don’t repeat Pilate’s mistake.
