10,000 experiments before he found the way to make the light bulb.
What if he had stopped somewhere along the way?
Total failure. His rest of his life would have been totally different.
The country’s growth would have been stalled- everything would have been different
On our farm we needed water. We needed a better well.
They came. They drilled.
100 feet. Nothing, but keep digging.
200 feet. Nothing, frustrating, but keep digging.
300 feet. Nothing, very frustrating, but keep digging.
400 feet. Nothing, thinking it was a lost cause, but keep digging.
At 420 feet we found a river.
More water than we could ever use! But if we had stopped at 400 feet, certainly an understandable decision, we would have wasted all the effort drilling and still not had any water. We would have been totally convinced there was no water to be found. And we would have been right, there was no water 400 feet down.
But 20 feet more there was a river and we would have never known…if we had quit.
