THE NEW PSYCHO-CYBERNETICS by Maxwell Maltz, M.D., F.I.C.S
Winners Credentials: 30 Million Copies Sold of a Cornerstone Book on Developing A Winning Attitude
When I was 17 a professional football player came to our school and talked to our football team. One of the things he talked about was the book Psycho-Cybernetics by Dr. Maxwell Maltz. He explained how through this book he had learned how to control his mind. He explained that he had learned that he did not have to be controlled by outside influences and that he could control his response to whatever happened to him. He had learned how to separate himself from automatic knee-jerk responses to provocations.
He went on to explain how knowledge of these techniques helped professional athletes prepare and perform at high levels. I was impressed when he told us how pro football players like Jim Brown would rehearse the game in great detail in their minds before even going out on the feild. They would rehearse likely scenarios and plan how they would react to handle things successfully. This was preparing to win in a way that I had never thought of before.
I got the book and it opened my eyes to a whole new dimension of operating in the world. In the time since many of these concepts have become common knowledge but I still doubt that they understood by many. Millions have read the book and found it very helpful, you will too.

Here’s a review from an Amazon Reader
5.0 out of 5 stars A masterpiece made even better, February 14, 2002

This review is from: The New Psycho-Cybernetics: The Original Science of Self-Improvement and Success That Has Changed the Lives of 30 Million People (Hardcover)
The original Psycho-Cybernetics had a massive impact on my life. From it, I learned that I could control my thoughts and substitute encouraging, strengthening, creativity-enhancing thinking habits ("programming") for the less than optimal habits I'd picked up from family, friends, school, work, society etc. HOW you think makes ALL the difference and there has never been a book that clarifies the mechanisms of productive thinking better than Psycho-Cybernetics. This new edition is, amazingly enough, even better than the original. It's clearer, easier to follow, and even more compelling. I'll always be grateful to the person who recommended this to me when I was 20 years old. Twenty two years later, I'm living a life most people only dream of. I owe it all to my outlook and this book was where I began to make the connection between outlook and happiness and results in life. Essential reading.
