Laws Bite Back, Polyanna

Post a Comment | In life, there are Laws, Principles and Preferences
Laws are true all the time. Principles are true most of the time, but there is room for exceptions. Preferences are individual and totally up to you.
Be sure you know what you're dealing with and save yourself a lot of grief. Don’t test Laws. They will bite you back.
For example you may take the Pollyanna approach and say, “In my system of belief, in my religion etc., we don’t believe in gravity.” Well, gravity couldn’t care less what you believe. Its a law. You can test it all you want. Gravity is not threatened. Gravity is not intimidated.
So you may say I am going to challenge gravity. You climb a 6 story building, go on the roof, and to prove your belief, to prove your committment, you step off the roof.
Splat.
Gravity wins. Every time. Nothing personal.
So when launching out in life, do yourself a favor, find the areas where you can experiment and which things you must cooperate and never challenge. To be successful you must be smarter than that, because going splat is a tough way to learn and really hurts.
You can have an impact in many many areas, but there are certain things that you don’t challenge—they are bigger than you.
